Noordoostpolder Wind Farm becomes the second energy project to be given Government project status.
Following cabinet consultation, the Ministers of Economic Affairs, Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, Agriculture and Transport, Public Works and Water Management ruled on 12 May 2006 that the Government projects procedure is applicable to wind energy in Noordoostpolder.
The ruling opens up access to the implementation module of the Government projects procedure. The Government will not take any spatial decisions in respect of this project; any necessary spatial decisions will be made by the local municipalities and provinces. The Government will coordinate the implementation decisions such as permits, licences and exemptions.
